Ritual in Watercolor: A painting workshop weaving together presence with embodied creative flow.  Please join us at Flora’s studio space in Candler for a playful, mindful, and explorative botanical watercolor workshop on April 12th from 1-4pm led by Molly Reeder!

This workshop is an exploration in how we create a space of ritual to give ourselves more fully to the creative spark that is present within each of us. The class will be taught with mindful compassion, and offer practices for setting up both your environment and being to learn how to work with watercolor as a medium. Using subjects from Flora’s Forest and Field, we will learn how to thoughtfully arrange our subjects and paint what we can observe and sense in a calm and nurturing container.

This class is for anyone who desires to support their own creative practice with more reverence, play, and intentionality, and for anyone interested in learning how to work with watercolor within that context. Meditation and simple guided breath work is a part of this class, as well as instruction on how to create paintings with a wet on dry technique of watercolor. All painting materials and subjects/muses are provided.

Molly’s hope is that you can take these practices with you, and find ways to create ritual, play and a sense of ceremony around any day to day happenings in your life, infusing the mundane with the magical.

Your ticket includes small group instruction, all necessary materials, a welcome drink, charcuterie snack board, and your own watercolor painting to take with you! An email with address and details will be sent out a few days before the class date.
