Asha for Women

Organization of Chinese Americans - Central Virginia Chapter

Who : Bakers Against Racism! An initiative started by Paola Velez, in Washington DC, to bring bakers together across the globe to host a series of bakes sales, raising money for local grass roots organizations in our communities to fight racism and inequity within our communities.

What : Richmond Bakers against Racism is a group of chefs, bakers, pastry chefs, both professional and non-professional, coming together to bake for a collection of events throughout the year. The funds we raise from this bake sale will be split evenly between the different Richmond and regional organizations (seen above). Each baker will be producing one particular kind of pastry or treat to be included in a box that you get to take home. Each box will contain an assorted variety of a dozen baked goods. Extra cakes and treats will be available for sale at our pickup location (so don’t worry if we sell out online, you can still come early and snag a treat!). Further, a limited number of vegan boxes will be available on site on the day of the event.

When : Pre-order your box of treats on Saturday, May 1st. You may make as small of a donation as $25, or more if you want! 100% of all funds are split evenly between the organizations.

Where : The VCU Institute for Contemporary Art for pick up on Saturday, May 8th between 10pm-12pm. Please wear a mask and practice social distancing when you come to pick up your treats. See map below.
